~ Rising With The Sun ~

Mitsunari always woke up early.

It was a habit he'd formed very young. Rising with the sun meant he'd have more hours of daylight in which to fulfill all of his duties and tasks. Everything could be done at a slower pace and he'd feel more certain that he'd not got anything wrong. For a man of logic, this made perfect sense. Why waste away under the covers when you could be up getting things done and make things less stressful for one's self?

Exhaling softly, the red-haired man opened his eyes. The room was filled with the golden rays of light that heralded the dawn, telling him that it was time to get up. He was more tired than usual, a pleasant warm glow filling his body and urging him to stay where he was, but he ignored it. Stretching out his slender limbs, Mitsunari moved a hand to the covers hiding his naked body from the rest of the world.

A strong hand grabbed his wrist, preventing him from shifting them aside.

"Not today," said Sakon. He'd moved swiftly when he'd felt his lover stir and was now leaning over him, watching the smaller man softly from behind his curtain of messy black hair.

Mitsunari scowled.

"I need to get up," he replied. "There are things I need to take care of."

He raises his free hand to push against Sakon's chest, trying to get him to move, but the burly retainer doesn't shift. Instead he leans down yet further and kisses Mitsunari's neck lazily, earning him an annoyed huff.

"You always have things to take care of," says Sakon warmly into soft skin. "But I'm sure they can wait a while. Right now the best place for you to be is right here."

"Hmph. You would say that," mutters Mitsunari. "Anything to keep me under the covers."

Sakon sighs, and draws back just a little so he can look his Lord in the eyes.

"Mitsunari, seriously, you overwork yourself. One lazy morning spent resting on the futon with your clearly dashing retainer would do you good."

"I've done plenty of resting, thank you very much."

"...I don't think you actually slept long enough last night to get your required amount of rest, dear. Indeed, we were both rather active, and you were quite vocal as well. Especially whenever I did that particular move you seem to like, where I-"

"SAKON!"

Mitsunari's cheeks had gone a faint shade of pink.

"Fine, you've got your point across," he snapped, tilting his head to the side. "Just kindly spare me whatever else you were going to say then, thank you!"

Sakon chuckled, laying back down and pulling the now non-resistant Mitsunari across to lie on his chest. More and more golden light was filling their room, the sun now completely free of the horizon, and the birds were beginning to sing.

"Does this mean you'll stay where you are for a while, then?" asked Sakon, smile wide as his fingers lightly traced the skin on Mitsunari's back.

"Hn."

It did feel nice, to just curl up with his lover like this in such a relaxing atmosphere. Perhaps it would be alright to stay like this for just a few more minutes, thought Mitsunari. Just a few more wouldn't interrupt his schedule too much.

"Alright," he replied with a mumble.

After all, he could just get up earlier tomorrow to compensate.
